“The Pursuit of Meaning”: One of my favorite writers was the Viennese psychiatrist Viktor Frankl. Frankl was said to have founded the third school of Viennese psychiatry after Sigmund Freud and Alfred Adler. The gist of his theory is that all of us need a purpose for living. As Unitarian Universalists, one of the most important lines in our Statement of Principles and Purposes speaks of “the free and responsible search for truth and meaning.”
